Ruth and the Green Book

The third, fourth, and fifth-grade students had a delightful experience on February 1st at the Center for Puppetry Arts.

This show brought to life the story we read. Ruth and the Green Book is a historical fiction based on the life of African American travelers during the Jim Crow Era. The Green Book was a lifesaver for Bkack Travelers. Our students love to hear about Black History all the time (every day). Sis. Samaiyah ordered a copy of the Green Book so they could look through it. The students were astonished and remarked, “Wow! Sister Samaiyah, you still have it from back in the day when you used it?”
