<p>We are excited to celebrate our history and our legacy. </p>
<p>As you know, there is a parade today.  The parade is in celebration of Red Ribbon Week and Founder&#8217;s Week. The parade begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Mohammed Schools. Participants should wear something red. </p>
<p>Tomorrow, we will have a Read Around.  Pioneers and community workers will come to share their stories, students and teachers will read from literature written by our pioneers and literature of our history. </p>
<p>Wednesday is Open House.  Please visit our classrooms.  I have shared below some of the things you can expect to see in the classrooms as teachers will focus on our history and our legacy.  Some times are not listed. Those times are available from the office. </p>
<p>Legacy Lesson Plans<br />
<strong>Kindergarten</strong><br />
Students will discuss the role of important community helpers that shaped the Atlanta Masjid Community and the school. Students will create cards to commemorate the community helpers.</p>
<p><strong>Elementary Arabic classes</strong><br />
How Islam spread in our community?</p>
<p><strong>3rd/4th Grade Social Studies</strong><br />
Students will create a timeline from the Nation of Islam to Present. Students must have at least 5 dates and give information for events that happened on those times. Students will give an oral presentation.</p>

For nearly a decade, Youth V.IB.E. provided high school students with free skills training and the life-long tools needed to be successful as business leaders. <p>As an After-school program operating out of selected schools in DeKalb County and Fulton County, Youth V.I.B.E. Offers academic enrichment in math, science and reading. For the entire school year, free from 3:30- 6:30 pm Mondays through Thursdays (and some Saturdays), Youth V.I.B.E. offers a rewarding environment where students can prepare for their futures by increasing test scores, engaging in thought-provoking dialogue with guest speakers, polishing their writing, public speaking, strategic planning and conflict resolution skills; and taking tours of area businesses.</p>
